Following on from our recent news post about the Britain’s Healthiest Company initiative, we wanted to share with you a new campaign recently launched by RCN (The Royal College of Nursing) to help employers make improvements to their workplace.
The campaign is aimed at creating a better working environment for nursing staff so in turn they can give a better level of care to the patients. The RCN has created a set of useful resources to help staff demonstrate the benefits of a healthy workplace. The resources are split into five sections, which include Work-life balance, Dignity at work, Health and safety, Job design and Learning and development.
The resources are relevant to all health and social care employees in the UK, working in the public or independent sector. As well as helping employees to ask for what they need to make their working conditions better, the campaign also intends to support nursing staff in caring for themselves.
Kim Sunley, the RCN’s senior employment relations advisor, said:
“Healthy workplaces are something all staff have an interest in and can help to deliver, by doing so, they improve not only their wellbeing but their ability to care for patients too.”
